Ignacia Murtagh is a Chilean designer based in Santiago. With a background in ceramics and furniture design, she has taken much of her inspiration from nature and all it has to offer. All of her creations have naturalness and elegance in their core, drawing inspiration from mountains, water, stones, earth, and wind, her originality comes from a passion for combining nature and simplicity.

Her work comes from far and wide, gathering sources from all over Santiago. The “El Plomo” collection is Ignacia’s interpretation of geographical inspiration into practical furniture.
“Mainly, I am interested in the idea of communicating a sensitive and poetic experience.” This collection of tables uses the “El Plomo” hill, a 5,500 meter mountain and the highest visible point in Santiago, as inspiration. It’s blue and grey colour sets it apart from surrounding mountains and she is quick to harness it’s cold, smooth and grand physique.
Her choice of materials, two different shades Arabescato marble from Italy, add more than just quality – she uses the grain of the marble to represent the movement of snow on El Plomo. This attention to detail and willingness to seek far and wide for perfection is what sets Ignacia apart from others.
